In recent years, the value of medal collection has become increasingly high. Copper is the preferred metal for making medals. This metal material is relatively soft, and it uses a lot of materials to make metal medals. The metal medals produced have a beautiful appearance. So, how is the metal medal made? What are the production processes?
① Design medal artwork. With the popularization of computer technology, computer artwork has replaced previous handmade artwork.
② Suppression. Install the molds that are frequently heat treated on the press table, and transfer the patterns to different medal making materials such as copper or iron sheets.
③ Punching material. Using the pre made knife mold, press the product down according to its shape using a punch.
④ Polishing. Place the product that has been punched off the knife mold into a polishing machine for polishing, remove any burrs from the stamping, and improve the smoothness of the product.
⑤ Welding accessories for medals. Solder the back of the product with medal standard accessories or customer requested accessories.
⑥ Plating and coloring of medals. According to customer requirements, medals can be electroplated with gold, silver, nickel, red copper, etc. Then, according to customer requirements, medals can be colored. After coloring, high-temperature baking is performed to enhance color fastness. Through this step, a complete medal that meets the customer's requirements is created.
⑦ Create medal molds. Import the manuscript designed on the computer into the precision engraving machine program and program the knife path for mold carving. During the carving process, pay attention to the thickness of the knife pattern, and after carving, compare the mold according to the diagram to see if there are any missing parts. Finally, the mold needs to be heat treated to enhance its hardness and durability.
⑧ Packaging the produced medals according to customer requirements. Packaging is generally divided into ordinary packaging and high-end packaging such as brocade boxes, and we generally operate according to customer requirements.
Some common materials for metal medals are customized using metal materials such as copper, iron, zinc alloy, or gold and silver, which are made through certain medal processes.
